Jeffrey M. Klaiman, PE, Principal

Shawn Benjaminson, PE, LEED AP BD+C, Principal

Mr. Klaiman, who has over 30 years of experience, leads ADTEK’s structural and specialty engineering (cold-formed and light gauge steel) practices. He oversees ADTEK’s structural engineers on all projects, provides the structural engineering to support many of ADTEK’s current projects, and has the authority to assign structural staff company wide to ensure that sufficient resources are available to meet project schedules. Mr. Klaiman was also instrumental in the expansion of the specialty engineering discipline company-wide, is nationally recognized as an expert in his field and is licensed in over ten states. His specialty group operates throughout the country and actively participates in the professional community. He conducts seminars to educate and promote the development of and most efficient use of light gauge steel framing and design. Mr. Klaiman’s professional experience includes building maintenance and engineering, on-site engineering for a concrete contractor, and Manager of Technical Services for Dale/Incor (a national manufacturer of light gauge steel framing products and systems). He is a member of multiple committees of the American Iron & Steel Institute’s Committee of Specifications for the Design of Cold-Formed Steel Structural Members and the Committee on Framing Standards for the Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute, ASTM and the Steel Framing Alliance. Mr. Klaiman currently serves as President of the Mid-Atlantic Steel Framing Alliance (MASFA) and served as President of the Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute in 2009-2010.

With nearly 30 years of experience, Mr. Benjaminson is a licensed professional engineer registered in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia. He is a local favorite in Montgomery County, Prince George’s County and Frederick County, and has expertise in pre-planning feasibility studies through new and/or renovated construction, in compliance with all applicable codes and standards that meet program requirements. He is recognized for his expertise in LEED certification, MDE regulations, Maryland DNR, WSSC and various other local codes throughout the Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC area. He serves as a Principal overseeing ADTEK’s civil discipline and has over 26 years of experience in all aspects of land development. Mr. Benjaminson has played a key role in generating revenues and growing the civil discipline for the firm. He is responsible for all aspects of land development including engineering design and planning for stormwater management, sediment control, trails/paths, storm drainage, water and sewer, parking, roadways, site layout and grading, utility design and pre-construction services.

Ashley Beesam, PE, LEED AP BD+C, Principal

Andrew Newland, PE, Principal

Ashley Beesam, PE, LEED AP BD+C, who has worked at ADTEK for 11 years, is a new Principal at ADTEK, and will continue as the Civil Engineering Team Leader in ADTEK’s Fairfax office. Ashley is an accomplished civil engineer with almost 20 years of experience and has completed countless projects. Her project experience ranges from private developments to public schools, fire stations and projects in direct support of the Federal Government. Her breadth of experience has proved useful in the successful development of these projects throughout the Washington Metropolitan region. Andrew Newland, PE, who has worked at ADTEK for 11 years, is a new Principal at ADTEK, and will continue as the Specialty Structural Engineering Team Leader in Charlottesville and Fairfax. Andy has over 14 years of experience, specializing in load bearing and non-load bearing cold-formed steel (CFS), and has completed a wide variety of award-winning projects. He is also a past Chairman of the Executive Committee of the CFSEI, and a member of the Committee on Specifications of the AISI.
