The Adtek Satire

The Adtek Story

1987

ADTEK founded by Mahendra Shah and John Frankhouser as a structural engineering consulting firm based in Fairfax, Virginia to provide design services for housing and pre-engineered buildings.

 

1989

ADTEK is awarded its first school design project, the Belvedere Elementary School project with Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Thereafter, ADTEK contributed to the design of more than 500 school projects.

 

1992

ADTEK enters into the specialty engineering business with its first significant cold-formed steel (aka light gauge) design project, Annapolis Harbor Shopping Center.

 

1996

ADTEK expands into civil engineering services to complement its structural and specialty engineering service offerings.

 

1999

ADTEK opens a Beltsville, Maryland office after being awarded several high-profile design projects to support Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI)’s expansion.

 

2000

ADTEK incorporates sustainable design elements into facility designs such as the Robert Crown Sailing Center in Annapolis, Maryland. ADTEK extends its LEED® design practices to schools eventually designing some of the largest LEED® certified schools in the nation.

 

2001

ADTEK establishes a presence in Frederick, Maryland through its merger with Pecora Engineering. Tee Pecora is Principal in Charge of the Frederick Office.

 

2005

ADTEK continues to expand geographically by opening an office in Hockessin, Delaware to better serve clients in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Eastern Maryland and Delaware.

 

2005

ADTEK adds landscape architecture and planning to complement its civil engineering service offering.

 

2007

ADTEK celebrates an important milestone of 20 years in business.

ADTEK continues to expand and opens an office in Michigan. ADTEK is licensed to provide professional engineering services in 40 states and is well poised for future growth.
